Steve O’Shea, President of the Board of Directors of Unlimited Potential, today announced that the Annual UP Golf Outing will be held on Tuesday, September 29 at Airway Meadows Golf Club.

The annual event brings together supporters of Unlimited Potential and area golfers for a day of golf, food and laughs.

The entry fee is $65, which O’Shea says is very low for a reason. “We keep the entry fee low because some of our players claim to have lost a bit of money at the flat track,” O’Shea said with smile. “The business community has been very supportive in the past by purchasing tee signs and donating prizes.”

All money raised goes to support the mission of Unlimited Potential, an organization that works with mentally disabled adults from Saratoga County. UP helps these individuals return to the competitive work force and provides a wide variety of services to the business community, including wood products, mailing and assembly services.

For information on the golf outing or on the services of Unlimited Potential, call UP at 587-2851.

Unlimited Potential, a Saratoga Springs based vocational rehabilitation center for mentally disabled adults, ended 2008 just as UP ended the previous 7 years, by placing more people in the competitive workforce and producing thousands of wood products and successfully handling hundreds of thousands of pieces of mail.

Unlimited Potential’s workshop produces wood products such as shrub covers and picnic tables and the mailing operation works with local businesses processing catalogs and promotional pieces and delivering the finished product to the Post Office.

In 2008 Unlimited Potential’s woodshop made over 1200 shrub covers, 80 picnic tables and nearly 50 Adirondack chairs. UP has expanded the woodshop product line and now offers hand painted Adirondack chairs for children and dolls, occasional tables and the newest addition, Saratoga tables.

In addition, the mailing center at Unlimited Potential processed over 200,000 pieces of mail for local businesses.

Unlimited Potential’s ultimate goal is to find work in the community for their clients. In 2008, Unlimited Potential placed 60 people in positions in the competitive workforce. The majority of these positions were entry level, giving the new employee an opportunity to gain valuable work experience.

For information on the products and services available to the business community and the community at large call Unlimited Potential at 587-2851.
